Sensate Focus Refresher, a Pressure Free Way to Reconnect as A Couple

When sex becomes a test, connection suffers. Sensate focus is a way to remove the test and rebuild closeness. It is not about forcing a result. It is about practising presence together.

The simple agreement

  • No goal, no timer, connection is the point
  • Start with non sexual touch first
  • If anxiety rises, pause and breathe, then return to touch

A simple first session

  1. Pick a time with no rush, phones away
  2. Spend ten minutes on non sexual touch, slow and gentle
  3. Notice breath and tension, soften jaw and shoulders
  4. Keep communication kind, what feels good, what feels too much
  5. Stop before you feel pressured, end with closeness
